Fire Scene Entry - Basic Orientation

This course is aimed at the person who has no prior experience entering a fire scene. Time required for in person delivery is 8 hours. We walk through the basics of consent to enter, continuity, pre-entry size up, documenting risks and hazard management options that may be applicable. Participants will receive orientation on the typical as well as specialized PPE that may be required, how to don and doff typical PPE and how to move in fire scene as well as how to exit and decon to avoid the risk of contaminating and exposing themselves, vehicles, homes and families to harmful toxins that may be present in fire scenes.
